Specific Defect Diagnosis
If your property is affected by structural movement, dampness or localised failure of any building element we can investigate to determine the likely cause and recommend an appropriate course of action. Our surveyors are all experienced in building pathology and defects diagnosis and carry the latest equipment to help them pinpoint the source of the problem quickly and accurately without resorting to trial and error.
Our specialist equipment includes:
- Moisture Meter to determine levels of surface and substrate moisture in all building elements.
- Hygrometer/Thermometer to assess relative humidity and temperature and determine dew point specific to each property.
- Thermographic Camera to aid in locating poorly insulated elements of the building, leaks, concealed structural elements and assess overall thermal performance of a building.
- Endoscope to allow our surveyors to inspect cavities in walls and floors and otherwise inaccessible areas.
- Cavity Wall Tie Locator to give an indication as to the position and number of wall ties in a failing wall structure.
- Six Metre Ladder to access most elements of a two storey residential property including concealed flat roofs.
- Laser Distancemeter to allow quick measured surveys without the need of assistants to hold tapes.
- Digital Angle Measure to confirm internal and external angles of building elements.
- High Powered Torch to safely access and inspect unlit areas.
- Plug in Circuit Tester to test electrical sockets in order to identify polarity or earthing defects.
